While I wait to be adopted by one company, I’m improving my ability to provide for my beloved freelance clients. One thing that’s been requested a few times is graphics and layouts for whitepapers/ebooks so I’m starting with the layouts part.
Once upon a time, I did mess around with Scribus. I’ve decided this time to look into Affinity Publishing, which, per Reddit, is a good enough substitute for InDesign if you’re not willing to pay Adobe prices, which I am obviously not.
In the past I’ve proofed graphics teams’ work on Figma so I thought maybe that would be an option but to be honest, the lack of automated pagination absolutely frightens me. I do not want to have to change the ToC and page numbers every time I have a better idea about organization or someone wants to add a section. Noooo, thank you.
